2007-05-17:   COMMERCIAL DATA MINING COURSE AT UEA, 13 - 14 SEPTEMBER 2007
This course is a comprehensive introduction to Knowledge Discovery and Data mining (KDD). Over the 2 days, a blend of theoretical and practical sessions are presented, covering KDD methodology, business objectives, data preparation, mining techniques, all supported using commercial data mining software.

Researchers in Computing Sciences at UEA have started work on an innovative new project to develop computer lip-reading systems that could be used for fighting crime. The three-year project will collect data for lip-reading and use it to develop machines that automatically convert videos of lip motions into text.
